Stress Management Coaching

Stress is an inevitable part of life, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. In this coaching package, you will:

  • Learn to reduce the stress you experience.
  • Get better at navigating the stress you do feel.
  • Discover how to cultivate a greater sense of peace.
  • Develop a stronger experience of what’s good in your life.

This six-session starter package is designed give you the awareness, the tools, and the experience applying them that will help you do those things. During those sessions, we’ll explore:

Stress Assessment

Our first step will be an in-depth conversation about your stress, what is causing it, and how you currently deal with it (or don’t). This will provide the starting point for our exploration, and highlight potential areas of engagement as you use your real life as a learning laboratory for how you can best navigate stress.

First-Aid Tools

One of the first things we’ll do is start creating your own personalized “first-aid kit” you can use when the stress hits the fan. The contents of that first-aid kit are tools and practices you can use to help you dial down your stress in the moment as it is happening.

Over the course of the six sessions and the time between them, you will experiment with different first-aid tools to get a better understanding of what feels most effective for you (there is no “one size fits all” with this).

Surfing Lessons

There is a saying that goes, “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” Life is never going to cooperate 100%, but it’s possible to get much more fluid at navigating its inevitable stresses. The first-aid tools you’ll learn are one step in that, but learning to surf also entails:

  • Awareness: Developing an in-the-moment awareness of the stresses, how you respond to them, and what helps you navigate them.
  • Volume control: Learning to turn down the volume when you encounter stress so the impact isn’t so harsh.
  • Foundation building: Exploring practices and techniques that reduce your tendency to have a stress response in challenging circumstances and increase your ability to notice and savor what’s good.

Your life as a learning lab

Each session is based on what is happening in your life. Frameworks and tools are nice, but really what matters is how they apply in the real world.

There is no prescriptive approach in this work. It is tailored specifically for you as we go. Each week, the discussion in our sessions has its roots in what you’re experiencing in your life. And each week between sessions, you will take the ideas and insights from those sessions and experiment with them in your day-to-day life.

Rather than give you a cookie cutter approach, your own experience will tailor what comes out of our work based on what works best for you.
